How did you come up with your name and number?
My name just sounded good. 17 is my lucky number and I was born on the 17th.
What made you first start roller derby, or how did you discover roller derby?
I got divorced and now I have more time on my hands.
Why do you love roller derby so much?
Keeps me in shape. Let's out my frustrations and you get to see girls be competitive.
How many hours per week do you practice?
6 at regular practice and three hours or so during the week just working at the rink.
What is your favorite drill?
The whip.
What is the most challenging part of roller derby?
The rules.
What are your non-derby hobbies?
Fishing, playing guitar, cutting wood, spending time with my daughter and volunteering time at the arena.
What’s your favorite piece of your roller derby wardrobe?
My helmet.
How does your derby alter ego differ from your everyday persona?
When I put on my helmet and gear I forget my problems and turn into someone else.
What is a common misconception about roller derby?
That all the girls are ugly and lesbians.
