How did you come up with your name and number?

I'm head chairman for our local logging Jubilee in a small logging town so "stihl" is a brand name of a chainsaw and in 1994 I was the queen of this event, so I put the two together and came up with "stihl queen"! And of course I WILL ALWAYS BE QUEEN! 928 is the phone number prefix of my town, Tuolumne! I am a true Tuolumne girl!

What made you first start roller derby, or how did you discover roller derby?

My cousin, Kilaron, was talking about getting a team started in our area and asked if I would be interested so I went to the first meeting in Dec of 2008, I liked what I heard and joined.

Why do you love roller derby so much?

Great exercise gets me out of the house and I love hanging with a GREAT group of girls! Ok... and I’m really REALLY competitive!

How many hours per week do you practice?

Try to at least 6 hrs per week.

What is your favorite drill?

The Zombie.

What is the most challenging part of roller derby?

Fitting it into my busy life! 

What are your non-derby hobbies?

I'm head event coordinator for a logging event the Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee that’s held in my town every year, I'm involved with the every 15 minute program within the local high schools, I love to have family get togethers, go camping, and spend time with my husband Grant, my son Trenton who is 3, and my daughter Reghan, 2. 

What’s your favorite piece of your roller derby wardrobe?

It’s got to be my derby socks and glitter!

How does your derby alter ego differ from your everyday persona?

Ahh, not much I think I am the same on the track as I am off! What ya see is what ya get!

What is a common misconception about roller derby?

That roller derby is a dirty beatem up sport, when it’s not! There’s more strategy to it than people think!

What advice would you give someone who is thinking about joining roller derby?

You gotta come try it at least once! Then you’ll be hooked! I swear!
